Russell PTA

This year Russell will host only ONE book fair.  It is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8th, through Friday, November 11.  Stock up for birthdays and start your holiday shopping.  If you are interested in helping out at the Book Fair, please email jean3jenner@yahoo.com. 

Book Fair Hours:

Tuesday, November 8th – 4:00-5:30pm
Wednesday, November 9th – 4:00-5:30pm
Thursday, November 10th – 4:30-8:00pm
Friday, November 11th – 8:00am – Noon

Join us for the next PTA meeting with Dr. Belcher.  Tuesday, November 1st @ 6pm.

Dr. Belcher is coming to share a message on The State of the Columbia Public School District.  He will provide a general summary of what is happening in our school system and be available to answer your questions.

All parents and patrons are welcome.  Childcare will not be available.

Come for a fun evening of games, food, the popular teacher raffle, silent auction, a new Dollar Store, the famous cake walk, and lots of community spirit.

The members of Kappa Alpha Theta, our Partners in Education, will staff the booths so parents are free to enjoy the evening with their children.

There are some other ways that you can help:
1. Donate a cake for the cake walk
2. Each family is encouraged to donate five items for the Dollar Store. They should be inexpensive items such as stickers, matchbox cars, jump ropes, and other fun, inexpensive items that children would like.  These items should be new or gently used.  Items may be dropped off in the office anytime.

The Russell Celebration of the Arts (Formerly called the Art Gala) is an opportunity to celebrate and explore all areas of the fine arts.  This event takes place in April on the same day as Grandparents’ Day.  The initial planning meeting will be held Tuesday, October 11, at 4pm in the art room.  Anyone interested is welcome to brainstorm ideas for this event which will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012.
